Back in December 2014, I got my first Windows Phone, The Nokia Lumia 1520. Ever since, I’ve been using it as my daily driver (until recently when I had to get another one). I will go into detail on how I now have two of them in another article. But the set-up is still here and is still very important. So without further ado, let’s go!
Phone- This is a phone, so while I don’t make as many phone calls as I used too, I still need it here.
Microsoft Edge- I do enough web browsing on my phone to keep it at the top. Edge, in my opion is the best WP browser.
Outlook Mail- I have my two main email tiles here. One is for school and the other is just normal mail.
Messaging- Probably this and Messenger are my main form of communication with my friends and family
Facebook Messenger- as I said, I use this quite frequently to talk to my friends who either, don’t have phones or just prefer it to normal SMS text.
Cortana- I mainly just use Cortana for the live tile, as she shows me news articles. She is also useful when going places.
Tweetium- Definitely up there with most used and my favourite applications. I know Twitter just updated there app, but I just prefer Tweetium. I have even tried Aeries, but I always end up back to Tweetium.
Chronos Calender + – Hands down my favourite calender application ever! Live Tile, interface and just the rest is perfect for me as a student.
iNi Reader- I tend to move back and forward between, Dailyaha and even going back to NextGen Reader. But I have been using iNi for a while and have come to conclusion, that it is my favourite.
Flipboard- Just an app that has, some interesting and some just stupid things to read. (Good time killer)
Groove Music- I use Groove as my primary music player, occasionally switching to Loco Music Player if something goes wrong.
Instagram- I now use the official app. Pretty nice.
LINE- I use this everyday to communicate with family and friends.
Swarm- To be honest, I don’t even know why I have this, a few of my friends have it so, it normal turns into a pretty fun competitive week for who checks in the most.

Bloons- Bloons Tower Defence are my favourite games to play, so I have them in A folder!
Bloons Monkey City- Probably my favourite game to play, I love the city aspect mixed with normal BTD. Also Ninja Kiwi do a a fantastic job at keeping these games up to date!
Bloons TD Battles- Now that this game is on steam, I don’t play it as much, but when I’m at school early, it’s a great time killer! Again love the mix of PVP with a slightish modified game play compared to classic BTD.
Bloons TD 5- This is the only one that does cost a few bucks, but it’s definitely worth it! Great game play for any one!
Superjombombo2 / Ninja Kiwi- First of all Superjombombo2 is my favourite YouTube channel ever! His content is mainly Bloons, but he also has another equaly as good channel, Superjombombo3, where he plays other games. Ninja Kiwi are the developer , so it’s nice to keep with the updates that they post.
Readit- My favourite Reddit client, I have tried Baconit, but Readit in my opinion is the best.
Xbox- I used to use the Xbox One Smartglass app, but the built in Xbox app is just worlds better! Plus it’s UWP.
Store- I downlaod apps very frenquently, so having as a medium size tile is handy. Plus I really like the live tile.
People- Useful to call contacts with multiple numbers, and again the live is really cool.
Fitbit- I do have a Fitbit, and I use it a lot. The UWP app is great, so having the live tile show my steps is really nice.
Nicelock- This is a really simple app that saves the devices buttons. Great app!
Another Folder- Just a bunch of random crap that I still use.
myTube!- Has to be the best YouTube ever! On all platforms, I would even call it better than the official app on IOS and Android. But that is just opinion.
Todoist- Until Wunder list updates their app, I will use Todoist. I really think Wunderlist is better, but no live tile on Windows 10 Mobile is a deal beaker. I really only this for the live tile.
PGA Tour/ MSN Sports- I use these apps to keep up to date with the PGA, as it my favourite sport.
Skype- Here to message people when my computer isn’t handy.
Photos- Good to browse my photos, and to upload pictures to Instagram.
MSPoweruser- This is the app that I use to find out news and upcoming features for Windows and Windows Phone. Can’t wait for the upcoming UWP app!

Good Reads- When I get bored, I LOVE to read these sites, I don’t like anything seriously on there though, it’s more for fun!
Ancient Origins- Great app! I love to read about our history and the unexplained history!

Today’s Word- A fun app, with an even better live tile that shows words that, most of the time I have never even heard of!
Cublast/Jet pack Joy Ride- Two really fun games that I like to also play when I’m bored. definitely worth checking out!
One More Line- One hell of an addicting game! This is a really quick and fun platform game that you can play almost forever!
Editors- A folder with the tools that I will need to mange this blog and even school stuff.
RT News English- I am studying news reports for school lately, so I can’t seem to get enough of these news apps!
AppRaisin- Great for finding news apps, and finding out what’s new in an update.
Converge/ Engadet- Mainly used for general tech news, good to have and even better to kill 5 or 10 minutes.
Going Down we have- Viber, Shazam, Foursquare
Alt Media- I keep all of my alternate media in here. I think enough said
6sec- The (in my opinion) BEST Vine client EVER! I love the features and the similarity with 6tag. Absolutely worth a download!
6tag- While the new Instagram is good and all, it’s really nice to still have 6tag for many reasons, my favourite has to be the dark mode. I do switch between the two.
CastCenter- My favourite pod-cast app hands down, for the notifications, look and the general performance. Definitely worth downloading if you even think about listening to pod-casts!
Plague Inc./ Subway Surfers / Shades Puzzle- Another group of games that a do play quite a bit. My favourite would have to be Shades Puzzle though, as I really like games like that. Personal taste though.
Radiant- I found this gem in the store one day just browsing one day. Seriously one of the best games for a mobile device that I have ever played! With a classic arcade style game play that is just beautiful. Definitely worth a download!
MyAppFree- I like the daily notifications, but their app selection is mostly and unforntunealty out of date, with even the live tile not really working either. Definlty can still find some great deals though.
Sleep Section in Fitbit- There is really not much other to say then, I like the live tile.
Dailyaha- I mentioned it before, so I won’t go into to much detail. It’s more for when iNi is working properly.
Gradient Generator- I really nice for making decent gradient wallpapers. Simple and easy to use, Gradient Generator is definitely worth a look.
That about wraps it all up, if any of you have any suggestions for any apps I should check out, let me in the comments bellow.
